'We are all colored, but friends are colorblind' - Not available for purchase

We people seem to have a need to define everything and often this oversimplification of terms, definitions and labels are wholly inaccurate. At first glance in viewing the picture above, most of us would say verbally that it is a picture of of a white hand and a black hand, but look more deeply. Most of us understand that no two fingerprints are ever identical. The same is true and may be said of skin color as well. When it comes to the different races depicted here, the skin colors and multiple tones are neither black or white. I have, for most of my life been awed by the almost innumerable variations of skin colors, fingerprints, and even the lines seen in the palms of hands. Shapes and sizes of hands can also be different, but certain characteristics can be similar, no matter the race. Look more closely at the picture. Can you tell which hand is male and which one is female?

Color in nature is almost infinite, perhaps in the trillions. When looking at a desert scene, brown sand seems to dominate the entire picture. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to travel in the southwest of the United States. I was totally surprised at the quantity and quality of life forms that live there.  The colors and incredible fragrances found in what seems to be barren wasteland, boggles the mind. Each life form lives harmoniously in the desert!

Each of us have our own unique mixture of colors. Color, like magnets can attract and repel. Understanding our own colors and using these to our advantage can enhance who we are physically and emotionally and allow us to share with others, the presentation of our 'best self'! It is said that 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' I'm not sure if that number is totally accurate as I believe it may well be worth 100's of 1,000's more. Besides the colors in the picture above, what else can you see? What is the theme? How does it make you feel? The point is, take a journey to anywhere and just observe people or even look at the palms of your own hands. I honestly try to capture what I see with my eyes with the lens or the 'eye' of my camera, to share the best possible light of a subject.
